The House Committee on Agriculture, chaired by Rep.
Bob Smith (R-OR), will hold a hearing on Tuesday, September 16,
to review the potential impact on agriculture of the Environmental
Protection Agency's (EPA) new air quality standards.
Carol Browner, Administrator of the Environmental
Protection Agency, will testify. In addition to Ms. Browner, the
Committee will hear from a panel of House Members - including
Rep. John Dingell (D-MI), Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI), and Rep. Ron
Klink (D-PA) - who are leading the effort to delay the imposition
of the EPA's air quality standards.
