Internships

The Committee on Agriculture minority offers a limited number of internships to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates. Interns will have a unique opportunity to be involved in the operations of a congressional committee and the legislative process. The Committee on Agriculture was created on May 3, 1820, and oversees subjects relating to agriculture, forestry, nutrition and finance. The committee is made up of six subcommittees, which are responsible for addressing specific legislative priorities within their scope.

Typical internships are offered from September through December, January through May, and throughout the summer. Interns are responsible for their own housing, but the Committee’s internship coordinator can make housing suggestions.

Those interested in applying for an internship should submit an application by the following deadlines.

  • Summer Sessions – April 15
  • Fall Semester – July 15
  • Spring Semester – November 15

To apply for an internship with the Committee on Agriculture, please email an application, resume, cover letter, and writing sample in a single PDF to the committee's internship coordinators, Olivia Olson (Olivia.Olson@mail.house.gov) and Elaine Zhang (Elaine.Zhang@mail.house.gov).
