Peterson, D-Minn., yesterday introduced H.R. 6273 which amends the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) and the Clean Water Act (CWA) to prohibit additional permits for pesticide application when pesticides are applied consistent with FIFRA.

WASHINGTON - The U.S. House of Representatives today approved The Mandatory Price Reporting Act of 2010 (S. 3656) and The Veterinary Services Investment Act (H.R. 3519). The Mandatory Price Reporting Act of 2010 will reauthorize mandatory price reporting programs run by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for five years. The Act requires livestock sales information to be reported and published in a timely fashion, allowing buyers and sellers to make more informed decisions.

WASHINGTON - On July 28, 2010, the House Agriculture Committee approved three bills for consideration by the U.S. House of Representatives. H.R. 5509, the Chesapeake Bay Restoration and Improvement Act, is a bipartisan bill that will give farmers and ranchers in the Chesapeake Bay region additional tools to help them meet regulatory requirements imposed on them by the Environmental Protection Agency.
