Peterson Announces Hiring of Chu-Yuan Hwang as Senior Counsel
House Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin C. Peterson announced the hiring of Chu-Yuan Hwang as Senior Counsel for the Committee. Hwang previously worked as an attorney for the Office of the General Counsel at USDA, providing legal advice on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and other domestic nutrition assistance programs. In 2018, Hwang served as a legislative detailee to the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry during the 2018 Farm Bill process. Prior to USDA, she worked as an associate for a law firm in DC practicing labor and employment law. Hwang received an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. “We are very fortunate to have Chu join our team. Her expertise on SNAP related issues, and her work on the 2018 Farm Bill are vital assets to our team as we see our nation’s most vulnerable face uncertain times in the face of the coronavirus. I’m looking forward to having her guidance and dedication as we carry out our work on the Committee,” said Peterson. |
