Chairman Scott Announces Staff Additions

WASHINGTON – House Agriculture Committee Chairman David Scott announced several staffing additions and promotions for the Democratic staff of the House Agriculture Committee.


Joshua Lobert will serve as Counsel for the Committee. Josh comes to the Committee from the Congressional Research Service where he advised Members of Congress and their staff on legal issues related to financial regulation, securities law, and national security law. Prior to CRS, Josh was an honors attorney at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. Josh has also served as a judicial law clerk to a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and taught history of philosophy at Harris Stowe State University, a historically black public university in St. Louis, MO. Josh earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University, a Ph.D. from Stanford University, and his law degree from New York University School of Law.


Emily German will take on the role of Subcommittee Staff Director for the Subcommittee on Commodity Exchanges, Energy, and Credit. German currently serves as a Policy Analyst for the Committee. She has worked for several past members of the House Agriculture Committee, including Congressman Pete Gallego of Texas and most recently as senior legislative assistant for Congressman Rick Nolan of Minnesota. German is from Houston and a graduate of Texas A&M.
