WASHINGTON – Below is a statement from Ranking Member David Scott on the violent attack on Rep. Angie Craig this morning.
 
“We, the Members of the House Agriculture Committee, and our House Committee staff, are very outraged by the violent physical attack on Ms. Angie Craig in her apartment in Washington, D.C. We wish Ms. Craig a speedy recovery. Also, we appreciate our leader and my good friend, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, for his quick response in getting care and protection for our colleague.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ms. Craig and her family, both here in Washington, D.C., and her home in Minnesota. As Ranking Member and former Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, I speak with authority when I say that Ms. Craig serves so diligently.

Ms. Craig is a very talented, smart, and hardworking Member of the House Agriculture Committee and we hope to see her back as soon as possible. This attack by this person has to be dealt with swiftly and strongly! We want Ms. Craig to know that we stand with her at this very, very disturbing and tragic time.
