House Agriculture Committee Ranking Member David Scott today announced the following additions to the Democratic staff of the House Agriculture Committee:
Clark Ogilvie will serve as Special Counsel for the Agriculture Committee. With over two decades of experience on Capitol Hill, this is his third return to the Committee having served in various roles from 2005-2014 and 2018-2019, which included work on three Farm Bills. In addition to his time on the Committee, Ogilvie worked at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for six years, almost half of that time (2014-2017) as Chief of Staff. He also served two years (2021-2023) as General Counsel for the Farm Credit Administration. Born and raised in Memphis, TN, he earned his B.A. from Rhodes College and J.D. from George Washington University.
Ari Perlmutter will serve as a Policy Analyst for the Committee and handle conservation and forestry policy. He previously worked in the Office of Congresswoman Kim Schrier (WA-08) covering agriculture, environment, nutrition, and labor issues. Ari is from Seattle, Washington, and earned a B.A. from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where he studied political science.
