Today, House Agriculture Committee Ranking Member Angie Craig (MN-02) published an op-ed in the MinnPost. Read the full op-ed here and an excerpt below.

“The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which helps over 42 million Americans keep food on the table, is on Trump’s chopping block. SNAP provides only around $6 a day to help people meet their basic food needs. Republicans have set a target to slash $230 billion from the program – putting food out of reach for seniors living on fixed incomes, veterans and parents with young children. [...]

“SNAP is also a linchpin for the farm bill, a once-every-five-years piece of legislation that makes long-term investments in our nation’s food and agricultural systems.”
